We are making progress here at the club. Justin has completed over seeding of the greens with the winter grass. He used a grass called Poa Trivialis. This is a fine bladed grass that provides an exceptional putting surface. He is in the process of cutting the greens down and is working towards the final green height. We have nearly completed the new tee signs with 16 of the 18 done. We will begin the process of getting them in the ground this coming week. You will also notice that we are in the process of replacing all of the markers on the tees to provide a more uniform and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
The Anglers Cards have arrived. The cards guarantee at least a 20% discount off of the rack rate in effect at the time of use. If a special is in effect at the time you will receive that rate. Whichever is lower. So you will always get the lowest price available. You will also receive a 50% discount on the price of range balls and a 25% discount on lessons from me. There will be tournaments, and weekly games that will be available only to Anglers card members. These cards are FREE for Tarpon Woods residents. Non Tarpon Woods residents may purchase one for $49.00. Stop in the Golf shop and pick your card up.
Justin and his crew have been working very hard to bring the course back to the condition we would all like to see. We still have a ways to go but, I think those of you that have come out to play lately will agree the course has come a long way in the last month.
Thank you for your support! Don't forget to come in and pick up your cards.

Your Tarpon Woods Action Committee met with the new owner (currently only lender in possession) of the golf course on 2/22/12 and we are very happy with the plans for the course and the attitude of the new owner Bobby Jacobsen. Hampton Golf, Inc. has been appointed to manage the course by Mr. Jacobsen who will not be actively involved at the club. Hampton Golf is already on site managing the property and you have probably seen new equipment moving all over the area in addition to a new fleet of golf carts delivered as we met on 2/22. Jim McKone is the new General Manager at the course. Steve's Golf World is reopening the Pro Shop and new merchandise is arriving daily. Plans are already being made by the new management to arrange special days and/or events for the community at the course and Beef O'Brady's...who have introduced a new menu. They plan to offer a membership at the club which existed in the past...they are looking for 100 members. They also want input from the community about the possibility of lighting the driving range for evening use (not late use). For information on Hampton Golf go to: www.hamptongolfclubs.com
We will keep you updated as information comes in.
WELCOME BEEF 'O' BRADY'S
Welcome Beef O'Brady's to Tarpon Woods at the Brooker Creek Golf Club (formally TW Country Club) and Happy and Successful 2010.
If you haven't played the course recently, the name has been changed to BROOKER CREEK GOLF CLUB and you are in for a pleasant surprise. It looks great! Along with all the improvements in the club house, the golf cart paths, bunkers and tees.
If you haven't visited the club house recently, you will be surprised by the major renovations. The carpet has been replaced with tile, walls painted, furniture refurbished and the restaurant is now independent.
Please know this committee is not affiliated with the golf course, but it is in the community's best interest to do everything we can to support the course. A well managed and successful golf course can only add value to the community and in turn add value to your property. We are simply stating an economic principle that we as a community can use that will benefit everyone.
